Youth football training near Oshawa
We run youth football training on Sundays for Oshawa kids who play tackle or flag. Sessions are at The Competitive Edge in Ajax, about 19 minutes from Oshawa City Hall with no traffic.
Your kid does not have to leave the Hawkeyes or a high school team to train with us. Keep the season and add Sundays.
Keep playing for the Hawkeyes
The Oshawa Hawkeyes are Oshawa's tackle club, for youth and high school players. Their home since 1964 has been the Civic Recreation Complex, 99 Thornton Rd S.
In 2026 the Hawkeyes entered summer league teams from U10 to U18, and fall teams at U12 and U14 only. Outdoor rep practices start May 1, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Civic.
The other tackle club near Oshawa is the Clarington Knights, at Clarington Fields, 2375 Baseline Rd W, Bowmanville. In the 2026 summer and fall leagues they entered teams from U14 to U18.

Flag football in and near Oshawa
UA Flag Oshawa plays at Maxwell Heights S.S., 1100 Coldstream Dr. Its games run on Sundays between 10am and 2pm. Our sessions run 9 to 10am in Ajax, so a 10am game leaves no time to get there.
Clarington Flag Football welcomes Oshawa families. In fall 2026 it played Tuesday nights at the South Courtice Arena turf. Our 7v7 vs flag page explains how the formats differ.
Paul Dwyer is Oshawa's LOSSA football school
Durham high school football is run by LOSSA. In 2026 Monsignor Paul Dwyer CHS, at 700 Stevenson Rd N, is the only Oshawa school with a LOSSA team. It has junior and senior varsity.
Paul Dwyer were LOSSA senior champions in 2024 and won the OFSAA Simcoe Bowl the same year. LOSSA's 2025 finals were played in Oshawa, at the Civic, Field 5.
O'Neill C.V.I. in Oshawa fielded a team in 2024 and 2025 but is not on LOSSA's 2026 list. A player at a school with no team can still play for the Hawkeyes in the spring and summer league.
No university football in Durham
Ontario Tech and Durham College do not have varsity football, and none of Ontario's 11 OUA football schools is in Durham Region. An Oshawa player who wants to play university football has to leave Durham to do it.
Matt Dean is from Oshawa. At Paul Dwyer he won LOSSA gold in 2015 and 2016, plus the 2015 OFSAA Eastern Bowl. He captained the York Lions at linebacker. Saskatchewan took him 21st overall in the 2023 CFL Draft.
Brady Spafford, also from Oshawa, came to Queen's from East Coast Prep and played linebacker for the Gaels through 2024. Darius Samuels, from Oshawa, was a defensive back at Guelph from 2016 to 2021.
All three came through KF Football.

For high school players, our 7v7 Travel Team runs January to May for invited 16U and 13U players. NCAA Camp Tours go to selected camps in May and June, with our coaches on site.
Who runs Sundays
Head Coach Keith Godding, born in Ajax, played receiver at Bishop's and four games for the 2010 Toronto Argonauts. Coach Jake Kelly, a Winnipeg Blue Bombers DB who came through KF Football, coaches with us in the CFL off-season.

- The Competitive Edge, Unit 12, 377 Mackenzie Ave, Ajax.
- Ages 8 to 16, in two groups: 8 to 11 and 12 to 16.
- $99 a month + HST. A second child gets 25% off every payment.
- Each block is 8 Sundays, and you can join on any Sunday.
Questions Oshawa parents ask
- Which Hawkeyes teams play in the fall?
- In 2026 the Hawkeyes' fall teams were U12 and U14 only. Their summer league teams ran from U10 to U18.
- Do Hawkeyes practices clash with your Sunday sessions?
- Not the outdoor rep practices. Those start May 1 and run Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and our sessions are on Sundays.
- Did O'Neill C.V.I. drop its football team?
- O'Neill fielded a LOSSA team in 2024 and 2025, but it is not on LOSSA's 2026 list. That leaves Paul Dwyer as Oshawa's only LOSSA football school in 2026.
- Can my kid play university football without leaving Durham?
- No. Ontario Tech and Durham College have no varsity football, so Oshawa players go to OUA schools outside the region. Matt Dean went to York, Brady Spafford to Queen's and Darius Samuels to Guelph.
